April Vacation

I have been slacking on my projects this week. The kids are on April vacation, and really don't want to sit around and watch me sew, and I can't say I blame them! The weather has been one extreme to the next, too. Sunny and beautiful one minute, pouring and windy the next! I did manage to finish my Aunt Millie's block, and I'm getting really close to the toe on sock #1. I'm not crazy about having to repeat the whole sock again, it's a very boring stockinette stitch. Next time I'm going to have to put in a pattern around the cuff. I was really stuck on "turning the heel", but I found some great instructions on ask.com. What did we do before computers????

  1. I would be LOST without google. I estimate that I've learnt at least 50% of my skills with its support! :-)

  2. I love that block! Is it your own pattern or did you find it somewhere?

  3. I agree...enjoy these moments spent with the kids as they are precious and few later. We always have quilting.

  4. Really love this block..but agree kids should come first..think of all that time you'll have to quilt once they're at college..and then you'll be thinking...I wish I had a little kid to run in and grab my hand to go play instead....

  6. Your Aunt Millie's block is a good one. I have seen a couple bloggers working on the blocks. It certainly makes a striking quilt and I am sure yours will too!
