I tried calling the shop who has my Pfaff today for some news, and I kept getting a busy signal, all day. Hmmmm. Now I have to admit, a little paranoia is setting in... I will be trying again first thing tomorrow, despite the fact that I am working. I will keep you all posted.
I've been trying to do some hand work, but now that the kids are home all day, it's a challenge. Got about half way on the next BOW wool block. I also have a few more things to do for my June Crazy Swap. It's a surprise, so I can't post any pics just yet. This was probably the most challenging thing I've done this year. The theme was watercolor... I have very loosely interpreted that theme, let me just say.
I've been reading my Sookie Stackhouse novels, too. I'm reading #4 "Dead To The World". They are a vampire series of books by Charlaine Harris, and I'm loving them. I read the Twilight books last winter, and I'm still on that vampire falls in love with the human kick, I guess?!? They are very quick reads, and I'm not in the mood for any heavy mental challenges this summer.
When I bought my new sewing machine ( just a sears) I decided to keep my old one and people sere saying why don't you sell it for a few dollars. I said no because if my new one needs to get fixed I will always be able to sew. Now that I see what your going threw I'm so glad I kept it. I wish I could send you mine old one so you can sew.
ReplyDeleteIt would make me a bit nervous to get a busy signal all day, I hope all is well. Your wooly project is very cute!
ReplyDeleteCrispy
Danielle, Go get you some Dr. Scholls Mole Foam and cut a small strip about .25" wide by about .50" long. Now find exactly where the .25" is on your featherweight and pull away the strip to the adhesive on the back of the mole foam is exposed. Stick to your featherweight for that perfect .25". Trust me in that it works! This is how I first started waaaaay back in the late 80's when there wasn't such a thing as a quarter inch foot. I taught many a student this way back in the day and to this day I carry some with me for retreats and such to help those who don't have the foot.
ReplyDeleteAlso I used to work for Pfaff while stationed in Germany. They are awesome machines. Your dealer however needs to be kept after! I had same problem with something relatively simple and he had my machine for days....I got to the point I had to hound them. They were being cheap and didn't want to order the part until they needed more to cut cost or something like that. Hound them!!
Hope you get your baby back soon! I usually take mine in when I don't plan to sew anything for a while, but I always end up feeling jittery the whole time it's gone.
ReplyDeleteI love your wool applique block. Very cute!
Good luck tracking down the repair person........and getting the machine back soon. Nancy has a great idea about the moleskin....it does work. Let us know what they say when you finally don't get a busy signal, okay?
ReplyDeleteI have done what Quilt Hollow suggests on my Featherweight. It works great! Try it! Though, the jamming up would still be a problem...
ReplyDeleteGetting a busy signal all day is not a good thing... would make me nervous also... Do keep us informed about this...
Your wool block looks great! 8-)
I hope this gets fixed for you soon. What beautiful machines you have! I love your block and can't wait to see what everyone has done for the crazy swap. I've been trying to blog about it as much as possible for l.jane.e. I am with you. I interrupted it loosely. I asked my sister to guess the theme before she left for Sweden and she said....Is it 50's Ice Cream Parlor. LOL. Hope you're ok with Ice Cream Parlor themed quilts too!
ReplyDeleteGreat BOW. I saw that being offered but had to say no this summer. Hopefully it will be offered again. Your block is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have read all the sookie book they are the best. Great BOW love your blog
ReplyDeleteYour featherweight is just darling, I have a couple of my own, and I love them. I hope you have some good news regarding your Pfaff soon, I can imagine it's driving you crazy.
